CONGRATULATIONS to the chairman who has been elected to the Fellowship of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. The Society has been actively supporting the study and enjoyment of Scotland’s past since 1780. It is the oldest antiquarian society in Scotland with a long and distinguished history. The Society plays an important role in promoting and supporting the cultural heritage of Scotland, providing a forum for research, education and consultation on matters of heritage and the Scottish past. The chairman said: "I am honoured to become a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and look forward to continuing to promote the understanding and conservation of Scotland’s unique heritage".
